PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of a field sequential driving system, which improves brightness and enables accurate gradation display, and a driving method thereof. SOLUTION: Back light R LED, G LED, and B LED are turned on to make light incident on a liquid crystal at reset sections t1 to t6 wherein a reset voltage or a reset pulse is applied to initialize a state of the liquid crystal. As a result, the light transmits the liquid crystal even at the reset sections to improve brightness and realize accurate gradation display as well. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
