PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type electrochemical display medium having visibility, texture and whiteness near to those of paper and capable of performing color display including black display and to provide a display element and a display using the same. SOLUTION: The electrochemical display medium has a composite of at least a kind of organic polymer selected from the group consisting of polyamide, polyurethane and polyurea and at least a kind of inorganic compound selected from silica and a metal oxide and the composite holds an electrolyte having an organic coloring and decolorizing agent reversibly coloring and decolorizing by electrochemical redox.
