PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wide and flat-bottomed grab bucket for dredging causing no deformation and breakage due to inner pressure rise of the grab bucket by enlarging a cut area of gripped materials such as sludge and sand to heighten working efficiency and reduce content of water, preventing disturbance or underwater movement of the gripped materials in dredging operation, turbid in rivers or seawater, and dispersion and shift of the turbid to the peripheral water area, and reducing resistance of the grab bucket itself under the water to shorten a drop time. SOLUTION: This grab bucket can open or close a bucket body 1a journaled to a shell 1 by winding opening/closing ropes 8 between upper sheaves 6 connected with an upper frame 3 by a hoisting ropes 10 and journaled to the upper frame 3 and a lower sheave 7 journaled to a lower frame 2.
