摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston having excellent productivity and slidably moving in a cylinder in a stable attitude and a method of manufacturing the piston. SOLUTION: This piston is slidably moved in a specified direction in a cylinder by receiving a pressure produced in the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. The piston comprises a skirt part 4 having an outer peripheral surface 4a forming a slidable contact part with the cylinder and containing a metal and a resin coated part 12 having a surface 12a on which a specified profile shape is formed and fixed to the outer peripheral surface 4a. The outer peripheral surface 4a has an approximately constant diameter D irrespective of its distance from the combustion chamber. A distance t between the outer peripheral surface 4a and the surface 12a is gradually increased apart from the combustion chamber and decreased apart further from the combustion chamber.
