PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size engine capable of maintaining or improving portability and preventing rise of temperature of a fuel tank and fuel therein with a simple structure without using a part separately. SOLUTION: In the small size engine provided with a crank case 3 supporting a crankshaft 2, a cylinder 6 attached above the crank case 3, a carburetor 12 provided via an insulator 11 connected to an intake flange 9 of the cylinder 6, and the fuel tank 15 arranged below the crank case 3 via a ventilation space 30, a gasket 31 put between the intake flange 9 and the insulator 11 is constructed to surround an outer circumference of the crank case 3 between the crank case 3 and the fuel tank 15 in the ventilation space 30 over an angle range at least 90 degrees or more in relation to an axis C of the crankshaft 2.
