摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston device capable of reducing its weight while ensuring predetermined withstand pressure performance when constituting a gas bearing by introducing working medium compressed in a work space of an external combustion engine into a piston and injecting it into a clearance part between the piston and a cylinder from a plurality of holes provided in a side peripheral part of the piston. SOLUTION: This piston device is provided with a piston main body 211, a pressure accumulating chamber 212 formed inside it, introducing parts 214, 215 opened and closed to introduce working medium compressed in the work space of the external combustion engine 10 into the pressure accumulating chamber, and a hole 216 provided in the side peripheral part of the piston main body to pierce through a clearance part between the piston main body and the cylinder 22 of the external combustion engine from the pressure accumulating chamber. Pressurized working medium is in the pressure accumulating chamber while the introducing parts are closed. The working medium in the pressure accumulating chamber while the introducing parts are closed is pressurized to such an extent that pressure withstand performance for withstanding pressure acting on the piston main body from the outside is caused in the piston main body.
