PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic supporting body for a structure, in particular, an elastic supporting body for a bridge capable of being miniaturized, reducing weight, and simplifying the structure and having excellent supporting performance for vertical load and horizontal load. SOLUTION: This elastic supporting body is constituted in such a way that recessed parts 12a, 12b are formed in an upper shoe 12 on a face opposing to a lower shoe 13, projecting parts 13a, 13b fitting into the recessed parts 12a, 12b of the upper shoe 12 are formed in the lower shoe 13 at positions corresponding to the recessed parts 12a, 12b on a face opposing to the upper shoe 12, the upper shoe 12 and the lower shoe 13 are mutually fitted through a rubber layer 14, a plurality of fitting parts A, B are formed, a horizontal load supporting part H is constituted by inner side faces of the recesssed parts 12a, 12b in the fitting parts A, B, outer side faces of the projecting parts 13a, 13b opposing to side faces, and the rubber layer 14 arranged between these side faces, a vertical load supporting part V is constituted by a horizontal face 12c of the upper shoe 12, a horizontal face 13c of the lower shoe 13 opposing to the horizontal face 12c, and the rubber layer 14 arranged between these horizontal faces, and the rubber layer 14 is closely filled into the horizontal load supporting part H and the vertical load supporting part V.
