PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a surface material into which an expanded metal which has strength and functionality though a thin sheet is used while making use of feature in the shape of the expanded metal is worked and which is excellent in the appearance into various uses by manufacturing it lightweight and at low cost. SOLUTION: In the expanded metal surface material which is alternately composed with an expanded metal part which is expanded with rolls, a press, etc. after forming many zigzag slits on a thin steel sheet and a part where a projecting line part of an angle is provided on both sides or one side of a sheet metal, a frame material of a surrounding edge is fixed so as to cover the end faces of upper and lower sides, right and left sides, or four sides of the expanded metal.
