PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a head part and a grip part and to improve the followup ability to the surface of a processing object of the head part in a motor-driven instrument (hair cutter) in which the head part with a trimmer blade for performing reciprocating linear movement is swingable to the grip part. SOLUTION: In a drive mechanism 40 for converting the rotation of the shaft 15A of a motor 15 to the reciprocating linear movement of the trimmer blade 30, a driving rod is divided into two of a first driving rod 44 and a second driving rod 45, and the reciprocating linear movement of the second driving rod 45 is guided by a first head member 21 constituting the head part 20 near the tip. Also, the fulcrum 5 of the swing of the head part 20 and the grip part 10, and the fulcrum 6 of the swing of the first driving rod 44 and the second driving rod 45 are arranged roughly coaxially.
