摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a filter from clogging until after PM regeneration control is performed. <P>SOLUTION: If the filter is about to be clogged, and conditions for PM regeneration are not yet established (step S11: Yes, S12: No), the following steps are taken until the conditions for the PM regeneration are established. If a battery charging capacity SOC is higher than a specified threshold, a torque assist by a motor generator is performed to reduce the engine load (step S15: Yes, S16, S17). If the battery charging capacity SOC is lower than the specified threshold, amount of the torque assist by the motor generator is decreased to increase the engine load for regeneration by the motor generator (step S15: No, S18, S19, S20: No, S22).
