<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which is improved to allow a current density distribution in an MEA to be more uniform. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell generating electricity using an electrochemical reaction with a fuel gas and an oxidation gas comprises: a plurality of unit cells including the MEA (membrane/electrode assembly) 10 where an electrode is provided on either side of an electrolyte film 13; and two separators 16, 17 which sandwich this film from both sides respectively. For two or more of parameters associated with the electrochemical reaction of the MEA, a characteristic of the current density of the MEA or a gas pressure at a gas inlets side region 10a is inhibited in comparison with that at a gas outlet side region 10b by the parameters.
