PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte which has a large capacity, is excellent in a storage property, a load property, and a cycle property and produces a lithium secondary battery generating a small amount of gas.

SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte composing mainly of a lithium salt and a nonaqueous solvent to dissolve it contains a compound selected from a group consisting of a compound expressed in general formula (1) or (2) by a ratio of 0.001-5 wt%.
