RESIN COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINTING INK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for printing ink binders having good solubility to non-aromatic solvents and vegetable oils and suitably used for offset printing without using formaldehydes being undesirable on maintenance of environmental sanitation as a raw material.

SOLUTION: A method for producing a resin composition for printing ink binders comprises heating and mixing (A) 10-70 wt.% ester-modified hydrocarbon resin obtained by modifying a hydrocarbon resin (a) with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride and a long-chain aliphatic alcohol with (B) 20-80 wt.% ester-modified resin acid obtained by modifying a resin acid (b) with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride and a long-chain aliphatic alcohol and (C) 10-50 wt.% naphthene-based hydrocarbon solvent and/or a paraffin-based hydrocarbon solvent at 150-270°C and adding a vegetable oil to the mixture.
