PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a microphone of a small-sized mobile unit from being damaged due to the intrusion of water into a housing of the mobile unit. SOLUTION: The microphone 11 is arranged in a housing of a camera 100 and picks up a sound reached through an opening formed outside the housing and transduces the sound into an electric signal. A microphone power supply 12 supplies power to the microphone 11. Electrodes 5, 6 are arranged in the housing. A CPU 2 for monitoring a terminal voltage of a resistor 10 detects the intrusion of water from the opening before the water reaches the microphone 11, and controls the microphone power supply 12 to shut off the supply of the power to the microphone 11 when detecting the intrusion of water.
