PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground excavation method for efficiently excavating a digged ditch while eliminating twist simply without interrupting excavation work even when twist occurs in the whole rotation means arranged in parallel. SOLUTION: In this ground excavation method in use of an excavation device excavating ground by three rotation means 20C, 20R, 20L arranged in parallel for a base machine, each lower part excavation blade 22Ra, 22La of the right side rotation means 20R and the left side rotation means 20L arranged at both ends is rotated in the directions different from each other, and a digged ditch is excavated by switching the direction of rotation of a lower part excavation blade 22Ca of the central rotation means 20C arranged at the center into the direction on one side and the reverse direction.
