PREDICTIVE MARKER FOR THE EVOLUTION OF MELANOMAS AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF

A method for screening, evaluating the prognosis and/or follow-up to treatment of a malignant melanoma based on detection of a marker which is predictive of the evolution of melanomas in man or other mammals. Said method comprises at least relative quantification by all appropriate means of the alternative splicing transcripts of the isoform M of the microphtalmia, mitf-M+ and mitf-M- gene in a sample of tissue wherein a malignant melanoma is suspected.
