<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a determining system of degree of deterioration of internal combustion engine lubricating oil to correctly determine the degree of deterioration of internal combustion engine lubricating oil for a vehicle, and to provide a determining method of the degree of deterioration of internal combustion engine lubricating oil. <P>SOLUTION: The determining system of the degree of deterioration of internal combustion engine lubricating oil determines the degree of deterioration of internal combustion engine lubricating oil, and has a temperature detecting means to detect a lubricating oil temperature, a nitrogen oxide amount detecting means to detect a nitrogen oxide amount in the gas exhausted from the internal combustion engine, and a determining means to determine the degree of deterioration of lubricating oil depending on the detected lubricating oil temperature and the detected nitrogen oxide amount.
