<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-height card connector which allows the size of a space in which the front ends of contacts are displaced to be designed easily on the basis of the thickness of a pad where a pad of an inserted card is formed. <P>SOLUTION: The low-height card connector comprises a connector housing, a cover member, a card storage space in which the card is inserted, the contacts which are set in a cantilever manner, a guide member which guides a surface of the card where the pad is formed, a press member which guides the surface of the card where the pad is not formed, and the contact displacement space in which the front ends of the contacts are displaced. According to the connector, the thickness F mm of the contact displacement space is determined to be within a range: F=A-C+0.2 to F=A-C+0.5, where the nominal thickness of the pad is A mm and a gap between the contact top of the contacts and the card press member is C mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
