<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-insulated switchgear with excellent arc resistance performance capable of adequately relaxing an electric field of a gas space. <P>SOLUTION: This gas-insulated switchgear is provided with a switching part 15 arranged in the gas space in the gas-insulated switching instrument, and shield members 13, 14 for adjusting the electric field of the gas space. Coating members 16, 17 for covering the shield members 13, 14 are composite members comprising inner layer members 16a, 17a, and outer layer members 16b, 17b. The inner layer members 16a, 17a are structured of members of a lower dielectric constant than that of the outer layer members 16b, 17b.
