PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermoelectric element which is superior in mass-producibility and can be modularized at a low cost. SOLUTION: A material ingot is pulverized, and it is solidified and molded to make solid and molded p-type and n-type thermoelectric element materials. The solid and molded bodies are respectively molded by extrusion by using an extrusion die wherein a plurality of holes are made in the same arrangement as that in a thermoelectric module. Then, the extrusion-molded p-type and n-type thermoelectric material bodies are put into a container together with a receiving jig, the container is filled with a resin, and the resin is solidified. The solid resin is taken out from the container, and it is cut at a specified interval by a multi-wire saw, resulting in a plate-like solid material wherein the p-type and n-type thermoelectric elements are scattered in the resin. Then, a metallic layer is formed on the thermoelectric elements on one surface of the plate-like solid material, and the metallic layer and an electrode formed on a substrate are joined with solder. Furthermore, the metallic layer is also formed on the other surface thereof, and the resin is removed to complete a thermoelectric module. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
