PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tower type spacer suitably installable by a worker by sliding from the horizontal direction in parallel to bar arrangement work or after the bar arrangement work, by properly securing an interval between doubly arranged slab reinforcements and the cover thickness of a slab. SOLUTION: This tower type spacer 10 has a pair of slab reinforcement support parts installable on a concrete placing form surface 11 and supporting the doubly arranged slab reinforcements, and a connecting part for connecting and fixing these parts. The slab reinforcement support parts respectively form an engaging part 13a partially opened in the horizontal direction for sandwiching a lower end reinforcement 12a in a position for securing a distance equivalent to the design cover thickness 14a from a bottom surface, and an engaging part 13b partially opened in the horizontal direction for sandwiching an upper end reinforcement 12b in a position for securing a distance equivalent to an interval between the upper end reinforcement 12b and the lower end reinforcement 12a from that part.
