PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner in which a gap is not generated between the upper part of the annular rib of a partition wall and a sealing member at the time of driving a motor-driven blower. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner comprises a dust collecting chamber 31 for collecting dust, a motor chamber 33 provided with the motor-driven blower 32, and the partition wall 60 which sections the dust collecting chamber 31 and the motor chamber 33, is provided with a suction hole and is eretced from the bottom part of the motor chamber 33. The annular rib 62 surrounding the periphery of the suction hole 61 is formed on the side face 30A on the side of the motor chamber 33 of the partition wall 60, the periphery of the suction opening 32a of the motor-driven blower 32 is surrounded, the sealing member is interposed between the fan case 32F of the motor-driven blower 32 and the annular rib 62, and thus a negative pressure is made to act on the dust collecting chamber 31 by the motor-driven blower 32.
