A headlight, in particular a motor vehicle headlight, has the following features: the headlight has a compression aggregate (1) for generating a conveying force for a coolant which is conveyed through the headlight for cooling the lighting means (6, 7); the headlight has a heat exchanger (2) for conveying heat from the coolant to the headlight surroundings; and the headlight has means for controlling and/or regulating the compression aggregate (1).
