<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram element with a structure effectively reducing or preventing the falling down of a recessed and projecting periodic structure. <P>SOLUTION: This hologram element has a micro recessed and projecting periodic structure for diffraction with an almost rectangular wave-shaped cross section on the surface of an optical transparent organic material layer formed on a transparent substrate, wherein recessed parts of the recessed and projecting periodic structure are filled with optical transparent material and the value of Q that is defined by Q = (2πλ<SB>0</SB>T)/(n<SB>0</SB>Λ<SP>2</SP>) is larger than 1, wherein use wavelength: λ<SB>0</SB>, depth of recessed part: T, refractive index of organic material layer: n<SB>0</SB>, and grating period: Λ. A connecting part 25 that connects projecting parts 23 adjacent to each other is formed in a recessed part 24 of the micro recessed and projecting periodic structure at intervals of 100 μm inside the same recessed part, and the connecting part 25 has substantial use wavelength order width in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the transparent organic material layer. The upper face part of the recessed and projecting periodic structure, the upper face part of connecting parts 25, and the surface part 22 of the organic material layer with no recessed and projecting periodic structure formed thereon, are formed on the same plane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
