<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which encodes property information of a two-dimensional or three-dimensional mesh object used in an SNHC (synthetic and natural hybrid coding) field or a VRML(virtual reality markup language), etc. <P>SOLUTION: A predictor having an order of 1 is used when the property information to be inputted has high correlation with the adjacent information, and when the correlation is low, the predictor is not used. Namely, when an output value of the predictor is fixed to zero, a prediction error signal becomes identical to an original signal and operates similarly as in the case where there is no predictor. The correlation of the property information to be inputted is used in order to control two operation modes of the predictor. Namely, autocorrelation is obtained from the property information to be inputted, and when the correlation with the adjacent position is large, the predictor is used, and when the correlation is small, the predictor is fixed to zero. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
