<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile floor mat that can be easily released and is not displaced during its use. <P>SOLUTION: A surface cover, a floor mat (30), for example, is removably attached to a base plate below it, some ring-like fibers of a carpet floor plate (20) of an automobile, for example. This surface cover comprises a substantial flat surface (40) having an upper surface, a carpet cloth fixed and adhered to the upper surface, a group of extremity ends (44) regularly formed, spaced apart and directed downwardly and a group of base plate engagement portions (46) formed regularly, spaced apart and combined and engaged with some ring-like fibers at the base plate.
