PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a picture screen being rewritten from being looked by a viewer by rewriting the picture screen displayed on the back side observed from the viewer because time may be required for rewriting the picture screen in a display apparatus such as an electrophoresis apparatus. SOLUTION: The display apparatus 2 is provided with two display parts formed on both sides, a recognition means for recognizing the surface turned to the viewer 1 side and a display control means for updating the display contents of the display part of the side which is not turned to the viewer 1 side out of the two display parts.
