PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel apparatus capable of displaying an image with an image quality by which a space frequency can be sensed highly and fineness in any direction of a panel surface. SOLUTION: Discharge cells C1 arrayed in a matrix inside a discharge space between a front face glass substrate 10 and a rear face glass substrate 13 are formed and each red, green and blue phosphors layers 16R, 16G and 16B are formed inside the discharge cell C1 so that they are separated from one another between the discharge cells C1 adjacent to each other in a column direction. A pixel is formed by three discharge cells C1, with each phosphors layer 16R, 16G and 16B, arranged side-by-side and adjacent to each other in a row direction and pixels GI, G2 and G3 are arrayed in a matrix in both row and column directions.
