PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductor for a flat cable with high whisker resistance in which generation of whisker is suppressed. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a conductor for use for a flat cable. The conductor 10A for a flat cable has a Sn plating layer 12a formed around a Cu conductor (Cu-Ag) 11 containing 0.1 to 0.6 mass % Ag. Satisfactory whisker resistance is obtained due to shifting/diffusion of Ag in the Cu conductor (Cu-Ag) 11 to the Sn plating layer 12a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
