The pigment comprise flake-form substrates coated with a conductive layer, where a number-weighted mean particle area of the pigment is greater than or equal to one hundred and fifty square meter and greater than or equal to two hundred micro square meter. The proportion of pigments having a particle area of less than forty micro square meter is less than or equal to fifteen percent by weight. An independent claim is also included for a process for preparing transparent conductive pigments.
