A speaker capable of realizing an increase in tone quality by suppressing the split resonance of a diaphragm body and the natural frequency of an edge while realizing a reduction in weight. A diaphragm (7) comprises the diaphragm body (7a) and the edge (7b). The outer peripheral part of the diaphragm body (7a) is joined to the peripheral edge of a frame through the edge (7b). The shape of the edge (7b) is formed in a roughly round shape. At least one of the outer peripheral part of the diaphragm body (7a) and the inner peripheral part of the edge (7b), which form a joining part (7c) therebetween, is formed in a shape different from a round shape.
