<p>A multitubular reactor capable of properly performing reaction by suppressing and rapidly settling a variation in the temperature of a heat medium and its control system, particularly, properly applicable to a catalytic gas phase oxidation reaction in manufacturing (metha) acrylic acid. The reactor comprises a multitubular reactor vessel having a plurality of reaction tubes in a shell in which the heat medium flows and a heat medium cooling device installed on the outside of the reactor vessel. The reactor and its control method comprises a step for primarily cooling the heat medium taken out to the outside of the shell, a step for secondarily cooling a part of the primarily cooled heat medium, and a line for circulating, in the shell, the secondarily cooled heat medium and the heat medium primarily cooled but not secondarily cooled.</p> |
