PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active damper capable of developing an effective active damping effect on the vibration of a plurality of or wide frequency ranges by a small supply energy. SOLUTION: This damper forms a vibration system with at least two degrees of freedom by elastically connecting a first block member 14 to a mounting member 12 fitted to an object 10 to be damped and elastically supporting an additional block member 16 on the first block member 14. On the other hand, an excitation means 22 imparting an excitation force between the mounting member 12 and the first block member 14 is installed to directly impart the excitation force to the first block member 14 and indirectly impart the excitation force to the added block member 16 through the first block member 14.
