PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal detector capable of preventing a trouble caused by the operation or management of a demagnetizer or a test object. SOLUTION: The metal detector is provided with the main body 300 including the inspection means 310 comprises the magnetic field generation means 4, and the magnetic sensors 8, 9, wherein before testing the test object, the sensitive test using the test body 100 containing the test specimen of metal is performed. The demagnetizer 200 attached to the main body, is made capable of storing the test body, and capable of imparting the magnetic field to the test body for demagnetizing the test specimen while storing the same.
