PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically suppress and release each function of photographic equipment inside a specific area. SOLUTION: In a method for inhibiting the photographing functions by digital equipment, there are a portable telephone with a camera and the photographic equipment 10, such as a digital camera, having a transmitter 20 capable of transmitting signals for inhibiting the functions of the photographing equipment; a signal receiver 11 receiving the signals for inhibiting the functions, a control unit 12 inhibiting and controlling the functions in the photographic equipment 10 by transmitting and receiving the signals; a display unit 13 displaying the suppressed state of each function to the photographic section of the photographic equipment and a storage 14 storing the suppressed states of the functions and the time receiving no signal periodically output from the transmitter 20 in the specific area. In the method, the photographic functions are suppressed by receiving the signals output from the transmitter 20 by the photographic equipment 10 in the specific area. When the photographic equipment 10 is positioned outside the specific area, the suppression is released after a fixed time has passed, after the signals are not received by the signal receiver 11.
