PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic-album displaying system for superimposing an arbitrary caption on an image and displaying the resulting image in the case of displaying a slide show. SOLUTION: The electronic-album displaying system includes: a video stream storage section for storing video streams including a plurality of images; a playback section for playing back a video stream; a remote controller for remotely controlling the playback section, and the remote controller includes: a schedule storage section for storing schedules for playing back images and caption information for denoting captions displayed while being superimposed on images; a remote control section for remotely controlling the playback section to play back the image according to the schedule; and a caption information transmission section for transmitting the caption information corresponding to the played back image, and the electronic-album displaying system is furthermore provided with a caption superimposing section for superimposing a caption on the video stream and a display section for displaying the resulting video stream.
