PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication apparatus which is capable of surely suppressing not only a call arrival sound but also use for a call or the like even when a base station covers a wide service area. SOLUTION: A radio control section 103 controls a radio communication section 102 to connect with and communicate with a non-illustrated radio communication apparatus which uses radio waves or ultrasonic waves of the same standard. A central control section 104 of a portable telephone set 100 controls a base station control section 106 which communicates with a non-illustrated base station using radio waves, the radio control section 103, a user interface 107 and the like. If the central control section 104 communicates with the radio control section 103 to detect connection by the radio communication section 102, the central control section 104 compares the connection with predetermined information stored in a setting storage section 105 and if the connection meets conditions, an operating mode of the portable telephone set 100 is changed into setting written in the setting storage section 105 beforehand.
