PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording apparatus in which a leak magnetic field to a magnetic head can be compensated surely with a low cost. SOLUTION: In this disk apparatus, a control part 51 obtains a property ( intensity and direction) of a whole leak magnetic fieldψAL based on detection result of a hole element 41 and an FT coil control signal 62. Further, the control part 51 corrects a recording magnetic fieldψM generated from a recording head 1 coil 22. Therefore, even if the whole leak magnetic fieldψAL is varied temporally and the whole leak magnetic fieldψAL exists, effective magnetic fieldψMa in accordance with a recording signal 66 can be applied surely to a magneto-optical disk H. Also, as current quantity and power consumption can be suppressed comparing with constitution in which the recording magnetic fieldψM is corrected by a uniform DC magnetic field, a drive cost can be reduced.
