PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently decontaminating the soil contaminated with a volatile chlorinated organic compound without causing secondary pollution when the soil is decontaminated even if there is an existing building on the contaminated soil. SOLUTION: The soil contaminated with the volatile chlorinated organic compound is decontaminated by supplying the biodegradation macromolecule which is produced from the microbe and has a pile-like, columnar, prismatic, spherical, elliptical rotary body-like and/or conical shape into the soil contaminated with volatile chlorinated organic compound.
