SEALING MATERIAL COMPOSITION, AIRTIGHT CONTAINER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

Disclosed is a sealing material composition for hermetically sealing joint surfaces of glass, ceramic or metal bases which does not contain harmful components such as lead and enables sealing at a temperature not more than 300˚C. The sealing material composition is excellent in adhesion strength to glasses, ceramics and metals while having excellent ultraviolet resistance and weather resistance. Also disclosed are an airtight container hermetically sealed using such a sealing material composition, and a method for producing such an airtight container. Specifically, such a sealing material composition is characterized in that it contains a curable methylphenyl silicone resin, a refractory filler and an ultraviolet absorbent, and the amount of the ultraviolet absorbent is 0.05-5 mass% relative to the total of the curable methylphenyl silicone resin, the refractory filler and the ultraviolet absorbent while the amount of the refractory filler is 10-80 mass% relative to the total of the curable methylphenyl silicone resin, the refractory filler and the ultraviolet absorbent.
