The contact device has first (14) and second (42) housings. The first socket (40) which plugs into the second socket (44) is rotationally symmetrical and has many small spring hooks which engage inside the second housing. The first housing has eight pins which engage in eight sockets in the second housing. Each socket has an array of contact tags (58,104) connected to wires.
