<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight illumination device suppressing temperature increase of light-emitting diodes, maintaining light emission with high brightness. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting diode backlight illumination device is composed of a mounting base board 16, on which a plurality of light-emitting diodes are mounted; a light guide plate 12 receiving light emitted from the light-emitting diodes mounted on the mounting base board 16, and irradiating the light from a light-emitting face; a heat receiving member 18 absorbing heat of the light-emitting diodes 15, arranged on and contacting with the back face of the mounting base board 16; a heat transport device 19, of which, partial wide area is adhered to the heat receiving member 18, and a remaining part is bent and extended toward backside of the light guide plate 12; a blowing fan 21 arranged at the back part of the light guide plate 12; and a heat radiation part 20 arranged at an end part of the heat transport device 19, cooled by the blowing fan 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
