<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a developer thickness on a developing sleeve uniform at a low cost without applying any machining for changing the diameter of each end of a magnet in a main scanning direction. <P>SOLUTION: In the developing device, the developer is sucked from a developer storage part through the magnetic force of the magnet 3, is passed through a gap between the developing sleeve 4 and a developer layer thickness regulating member by the rotation of the developing sleeve 4, and the developer regulated by the developer layer thickness regulating member is passed through a gap between the developing sleeve 4 and a photoreceptor drum 1, and then is returned to the developer storage part through an agent recovery port by using a developing roller composed of a developing sleeve 4 and the magnet 3 so disposed in the developing sleeve 4 as to extend along the same axis as the developing sleeve 4. In the developing device, the dimension A of the width of a developing sleeve suction section exposed in the developer storage part in the main scanning direction does not include the strong-magnetic-force sections 3a of the ends of the magnet 3 so that the magnet 3 has only a range in which magnetic force is uniform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
