<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an image file at a high speed, in an image processing apparatus provided with a plurality of imaging elements, such as CCDs. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus 1 includes the imaging element A3 for converting light from an object 100 into a video signal A; the imaging element B4 having larger number of pixels than that of the imaging element A3 and converting the light from the object 100 into a video signal B; imaging apparatuses A6, B7 capable of making the imaging elements A3, B4 drive independently; an image processing section 5 for carrying out conversion of the video signals A, B into image data A, B; a coder 19 for converting the image data A, B to code data A, B; and a central arithmetic unit 15 for revising the compression rate in the coder 19 on the basis of a code amount of the code data A so as to apply fixed-length processing to the code data B as its control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
