<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress tile boundary distortion efficiently in a wavelet coefficient space, when a motion picture of motion-JPEG2000 is decoded. <P>SOLUTION: In the decoding process of each frame, a coefficient-correcting section 110 performs correction for suppressing tile boundary distortion, in conjunction with a two-dimensional wavelet transform/inverse transform section 102. The coefficient-correcting section 110 selects all high-pass coefficients contiguous to the tile boundary as correction objects. With regard to high-pass coefficients, in the vicinity of the tile boundary and not contiguous thereto, the high-pass coefficients are excluded adaptively from correction objects, depending on its value and/or the number of quantization steps, and the motion amount of a frame estimated at a motion amount estimating section 120. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
