PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed wiring board and a magnetic disk unit wherein the flexibility of a printed wiring board connection part for connecting a main body and the outside is improved. SOLUTION: The main body of the printed wiring board and the printed wiring board connection part are integrally constructed by arranging a first wiring pattern, an insulating film, and a second wiring pattern formed with an empty region having nothing formed therein in the width direction of the printed wiring board connection part on an insulating substrate in this order. The flexibility of the printed wiring board connection part is improved because the second wiring pattern is not formed in the width direction of the printed wiring board connection part. The first and the second wiring patterns are connected via interlayer connection parts near both ends of the printed wiring board connection part, so that the second wiring pattern is not required in this empty region.
