PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch which has explosion resistance, dispenses with optical fibers having a large core diameter, and enables a switching operation to be stabilized, and to provide an optical switch system. SOLUTION: The optical switch PS has: optical fibers (20a, 20b) each provided with a core and a cladding; and switching members (14, 15, 16). Each of the optical fiber has a sensor part SP enabling a part of transmitting light to mutually act with the outer field and has constitution in which light Lin is made incident on the incident end and light Lout which has passed through the sensor part SP is emitted from the exiting end, and the optical fibers are arranged so as to draw a curved line centered on the sensor part with a prescribed curvature (Roff). The switching member changes the curvature of the optical fibers to Ron according to an operating state. The optical switch system is constituted by combining the above optical switch with a module etc. in which a light emitting element, a light receiving element and an electronic circuit part, etc., are integrated.
