PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize smooth shift control by enabling adoption of throttle opening characteristics in relation to special accelerator opening only at the time of shifting and limiting variation of input torque to an automatic transmission at the time of shifting. SOLUTION: In a control device for an automatic transmission provided with an input shaft connected to an engine via a start clutch, an output shaft arranged in parallel with the input shaft, a plurality of speed changing gear train transmitting power of the input shaft to the output shaft, and a sub-clutch engaging with at least one of a plurality of the speed changing gear train, and capable of changing gear by controlling an engagement condition of the sub-clutch at a time of gear change to switch engagement of a plurality of the speed changing gear train based on at least accelerator opening even if a start clutch is under an engagement condition, a control means controlling a value of throttle opening differently at a time of shifting and a time except shifting.
