PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foam sheet having the same mechanical property as that of a conventional resin foam, is inexpensive, is utilized for recycle of resource, is friendly to the environment and is useful for a concrete joint plate, etc. SOLUTION: The asphalt-containing foam sheet is obtained by forming a foamable resin composition comprising 100 parts by mass of a resin, 1-80 parts by mass of hard asphalt having 0-5 penetration at 25°C and 90-120°C softening point and, if necessary and 1-3 parts by mass of a powdery filler into a sheet form and foaming the sheet under heating.
