PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a lens generating a beam spot with a small aberration on an optical information recording medium. SOLUTION: This lens 1 is fixed to the inside of a cylindrical lens holder 2. A mediating member 12 sandwiches a feeding screw member 11 to thereby connect the lens holder 2 with the feeding screw member 11. A stepping motor is connected to one end of the feeding screw member 11, rotates the feeding screw member 11 and moves the lens holder 2 in an optical axis direction through the mediating member 12. The lend holder 2 is supported with its outer circumferential side surrounded by a support member 13, and since the lens holder 2 is inserted with a clearance fit, the lens holder 2 is slidably moved in the optical axis direction of the lens 1 while coming into contact with the support member 13. Thus, the lens holder 2 is moved with a stable posture by being slidably moved with an outer circumferential side supported in slidable contact, causing no deviation of an optical axis in accordance with movement.
